Electrickery Reversing Camera Stereo stalk Heaters

This is the technical section of my site, on the pages here I go over how I fitted, made up or modified things I fit to my van, the first page is the 'Electrickery' page, this covers some of the things most camper van owners should know about the electrical system in their van, starting off with the electrical basics, very basic stuff like what happens in an electrical circuit, what is a leisure battery and why you should use one, how to make electrical connections, how to charge the leisure battery while you drive, power the fridge as you drive, charge the battery from a camp site hook up and so on, eventually covering installing an inverter, generator and more technically challenging stuff.

The electrickery page consists of another 20 or so other pages all linked from each other, there is a hell of a lot on info in there, and more gets added all the time, While the other links above cover other technical type projects I have done, but ones that not everyone needs in their particular van, have a look and see if you want to copy some of the things I do to my van, if you do hopefully all the details are on the relevant pages, if not, then maybe you can use those pages to make your mind up to exactly what kind of power mad freak I really am :) I really do like my gadgets, and most things I do I try to save money, like the reversing camera, I could have gone out and handed over £300 for a system at any motorhome dealer, instead I bought a small TV for 20 quid, a miniature camera for £19, a few meters of cable, some wood, grey leather and glue, and in the best blue peter fashion, I made up a reversing camera system that works just as well if not better than a shop bought one, but mine cost me £45 to make, and it's a custom fit into my van.

Also the latest addition is a power input selector, using a couple of cheap relays to switch between shore power, inverter and generator power automatically, whilst at the same time turning off the battery charger when on inverter power, it's on the electrickery page as you'd expect.
